almost went down today.
Took a leisurely ride today down to Naples HD, then a run up the beach, and back home. Didn't notice anything out of the ordinary till I got about 1/4 mile from home. Coming into the second to last corner, the peg scraped pretty solid and I thought "man, I didn't think I was going that fast". The next corner, to turn onto my street, the bike almost felt like it was going to high side. Got it home and saw the front tire was flat! I just checked the pressures yesterday, so I checked the valve stem, it wasn't leaking. Pulled the wheel and took it to the HD shop (my indy wasn't open) and they found the tube had a pinch in it on the rim side. Said it was caused by rust inside the rim. The bike is less than 2 years old, so I asked why this should happen as it's been garaged all it's life and only in rain once. They said it was pretty common. Long story short, I'm looking for a tubeless rim now. Needless to say it scared the $hit out of me.
