I have a 2001 Low Rider I want to put a 2-1 exhaust on. I have a Vance and Hines HS on it now, but my insurance is going to buy me a new one because I got run off the road I like the sound of what I have now, but I want to switch to a black finish and V&H doesn't offer it in black for my year. At least not on their website. Any opinions on best look, sound, performance for around $600?
I got the Bassani Road Rage II, it will be a tight fit on your bike like it is on mine. The 06 and newer dynas don't have this issue. It is an awesome pipe, great sound and performance
I just got a Thunderheader in black for our 2002 Dyna. I haven't even unwrapped it from the packaging yet but I wanted black and was having trouble finding much of anything else. Plust Thunderheaders and Dyna's just go together.
I just installed a Bassani Road Rage 1D5250 onto my 2011 Wide Glide. Took the bike out this past weekend for the first time. I really like the deep throaty sound. This pipe is better than I ever though it would be. I also added a RSD intake and Xied's. I will try to post some photos soon.
I have a black v&h 2 into 1 propipe. It's the best sounding exhaust I have ever heard. And the gain in torque thru the midrange is unreal.
They are flat black and almost exactly match my black denim paint. Pm me with email addy and I can send you pics if you want
I don't know what kind of motor work you may have in mind for later, but if you're planning on something, get a Bassani. My bike with a Thunderheader is 109hp/116tq. A similar build with a Bassani on the same dyno made 119hp/113tq.
IMO the Thunderheader sounds the best, and really looks good on a Dyna.
The Pro Pipe looks weird on a Dyna. Too big, too long...
I've got the rinehart 2 into 1 on my bike. flat black. I love the performance and sound, but I'm a little disappointed in the durability of the pipe. it got spots all over it right away like the finish faded - and the heat shields are poorly fitted. if I could do it again, which I probably will, I'd say thunderheader or bassani is a win.
