Default Quick gearing question

Surely somebody knows the answer to this . I've got an 06 Street Bob it came stock with the 70 tooth rear pulley.Can the front be changed to 30 tooth without replacing the belt? My mechanic says he's pretty confident he can do 31 but not sure about 30.

From the Andrews site;

http://www.andrewsproducts.com/PDF_f...lleys-pg29.pdf

Bottom of the page... Every tooth reduction on the primary sprocket requires 1/8th " adjustment of the axle slider.

Do you have that much room?

This might be a minor point, but just remember your final drive ratio will change, so your speedo and odometer will not be accurate. Your stock ratio is 2.1875 and with the 30 it will be 2.333.
