I had some minor things come loose with less than 200Km. I had my speedo not work right from possession of the bike they replaced 3 of them to end up in the end putting the original speedo back on I will refuse to bring it back there for anything I just do my own wrenching I find it therapeutic.
Most of these problems are not from the factory but from the bad deaerships who are charging an outragious price to get the bikes road ready and endangering their customers lives.
I assume you are in Ft Mac? The dealer prep can be iffy at most places mostly when you pay in full upfront. Just be glad that you don't have a US market bike, Deely has even told the dealers that they will NOT provide warranty work on one or risk losing their franchise-use to have it posted on the HD Canada site at one time. Most work on these is done when things are slow if at all. Service at any level in this country is pretty well non existant. Spin the wrenches yourself at least you can find the guy when he screws up and give him s$%t.
I'm with you HD Dooly. Love my Harley and love wrenching but have a hard time keeping my patience on annoying issues that relate to quality control. I have a Buell for past two years with only 8000km of inner city driving and traded in my V-Strom for my Fat Bob last summer and only put 7000km on it so far. Between the two of them I have had rear muffler bracket stud in shear the transmission, signal light lense fell off, clutch cable bead let go, (stranded on the road), muffler valve broke, original clutch cabel was cross threaded in the primary housing, and now the bearing in the stearing kneck is rattling.
Again love both bikes but I have owned in the past; two suzuki's and an old honda and the only issues is to replace something that is worn out. My last bike, (Suzuki V-strom), before Harley had 40000k on it, drove it for three years and I changed tires, brake pads, fluids, and a light bulb. Nothing broke, worked loose or fell off. I'll always have a harley but now I don't trust them and check all moving parts.
