Any one else having problems with bran new fat bobs not being assembled properly? so far i have 1300 km and have a few things im not overly impressed with.
1-exaust bracket not tightened and rattled out
2-loose heat sheilds
3-brake pad sticking -not centered ,took apart, no lube on piston.
4-Brake on forward control not returning home fast, took apart, no lube
Anyone know the torque specs for the front and rear axel, and or
motor mount?
First, get the parts and service manuals.
1 & 2 were the result of changing to an aftermarket exhaust? EZ fix.
3 & 4 sound like minor factory QC issue and EZ dealer fix.
Perhaps dealer didn't properly road-test it prior to delivery.
I haven't had any problems with things vibrating loose but Ive had a aftermarket exhaust bracket snap in half, a heavy band clamp break and a forward mounting tab on my exhaust crack. Im sure the bracket let go and caused the others to fail. Fixed everything and last weekend I found one of the nuts off my rear exhaust flange laying on top of the tranny.
Moral of the story: Keep an eye on things
It really sucks things were not lubed at the factory
HD Dooley from your description I would agree the problems you have experienced are due to **** poor PDI and awful service. I would detail this and send a complaint to the factory. Poor service is one way for a dealership to lose their franchise.
BTW I have had none of these with my FXDF and neither dealer said two words about any of my mods and one even has recommended I do some additional mods knowing full well I will do all my own work.

Also check these as they were like this from new on mine:
Front wheel fallaway not adjusted and so front end loose.
Exhaust mount bracket loose at engine (missing loctite).
Rear brake bar from forwards to master cylinder pressing on front downpipe when brake applied. Needed to be bent so rear brake worked.
Fuel tank mount bolts loose.

what is the "front wheel fallaway"?
Everything else you listed is good tho thanks!
I had a rattle coming from the back of my new (500 miles) Road King. I chased it down and had to tighten up the rear tail light assembly. When I commented about it to a service manager he didn't seem a bit surprised. Hard to believe that when they make these bikes they don't just locktite EVERYTHING down, the first time around.
As far as your troubles go, it's definately a dealer issue! I don't know that I would buy ANY VEHICLE if the dealer I delt with weren't dependable and have a reputation for customer service!

+1 that the dealer is the weak link here. They are responsible for all the items you described being assembled, adjusted, or tightened before and after a test drive. I have never had a problem with any of my bikes, but my dealer is awesome.
