darkvisorman -

Pipes are Vance and Hines Short Shots w/o heat shields, Wrap is black Thermo-Tec Exhaust Wrap with a coat of Cool-It black heat paint - they have a web site and Summit also carries it. Wish I could take credit for the idea, but 'stole' it from mudpuddle - he was super nice with assistance when I emailed him for advice. He has some posts/threads showing how he wrapped them - not too difficult but hard to get around O2 sensor bungs and maintain the pattern, I kinda had to fudge it a bit there, but not too noticeable unless you get up close and look up under.

PsTaN -

Like my dear old dad used to say "If it's worth doin', it's worth doin' right!" and you guys here on the HDF helped me do it as right as I could figure (IMHO).

But frankly, I like it in 'the shadows' where I'll likely be hiding! Well, until Spring when the Bob will be rippin' up the neighborhood terrorizing little babes (oops, babies) and small dogs alike! Them quiet baffles on the V&H pipes are none too quiet - but I like it!

Thanks all for your comments! Means a lot.

Hi All -
Just wanted to publically thank all you Dyna Forum members for all your help, especially Mudpuddle (pipes) and Rudedog (tank lift) - you guys cinched the deal for me with all your great ideas and advice. Researched the HDF for hours upon hours, day after day before I pulled the trigger to make sure I had a clue as to the options, intake, SERT, etc I 'needed'. Just got my '07 Street Bob home last Saturday and thought I'd share a few pics. Got a great deal on this bike from the dealer just before Christmas - a 'demo' with only 157 miles for $1100 off MSRP. More to do down the road but think I'll just wait it out for a while the way it is after I remove the reflectors and black out the battery side cover. But I'm open to any and all suggestions, though kinda tapped out after I shot my wad for the bike!

And a few more here with pics of my other loves:

Thanks Again!
Very nice job Chip. Glad I could pitch in a little help.

Tastefully appointed, the black motherwell, the tombstone, etc.

You got the hard part behind you, pulling the trigger on this deal.

Now for the easy part, it's all downhill from here,
your wallet I mean.

Weclome to the Forums from the Hudson Valley of NY. Great looking bike and remember, it's only money that you'd end up spending on something anyway, why not the bike?

I must agree on this .... I read basically everything on the forum at least once a day. Cant explain how much I've learned and ideas I've gotten. HDF is an invaluable resource.

Hi phreak -

Thanks for the kind remarks.

Ran across it on eBay - believed it to be an NOS tombstone w/blue dot insert - at least that's what the seller claimed, but suppose it could be aftermarket for an FLH (?) or earlier. It had never been installed. Couldn't pass it up for $10! That was over 6 months ago long before I had considered my Street Bob seriously, but once ya got one tasty part, can the vehicle to put it on be far behind? Similar thing happened w/the 32 Ford, traded for the Guide headlights from a friend long before I had the roadster, and well, the rest is history.

And it wasn't quite a direct fit - wiring was a pain, but at least it covered where the stock tail light was. Needed a second hole in the fender, though. And plate light faces up, so a top plate is a must.
