well got my first harley after 3 sport bikes, a dual sport, and still dirt bikes and i'm wondering why i waited so long. It's an 06 dyna lowrider w/stage 1, Samson BG3's, race tuner and dyno tuned.
being new to the harley scene (but always into it and familiar with the different models, motors, etc...) i was wondering if there's anything i should watch out or look out for on this bike, the best way to clean it, and any other suggestions.
thanks
Congrats on your dyna, may she bring you many years of wonderful riding. As for anything you should know about, I think (and I'm not known for my thinking abilities) that there was some issue related to the primary with '06 dynas. Unforuneately I don't recall what the issue was. Hopefully someone will quickly bring it up. Lol, I guess that wasn't much help huh.
I recall reading about some issues with the stator and Inner Primary Bearing (IPB). I don't remember if the problems were confined to a particular model, etc.
I have had an 06 Low Rider for over 2 years now. I had to replace the rotor and stator and the Inner Primary Bearing. I bought it with 17,000 miles and it now has 42,000.

Welcome. First money you want to spend is on OEM H-D Service Manual and Parts Manual. Dealer or check ebay. Smartest buy you can make, after buying the bike. The cost of those two manuals is prolly less than the 1hr labor charge at the dealer. They will pay for themselves almost immediately.
Have fun. Ride safe.
thanks for the replys, how much did that rotor/stator/IPB set you back?
also from some other things i've read it sounds like i should get in and take a look at the cam chain tensioner as well is that right?
APEDnLOW,
Welcome and congratulations on the ride
I do not believe the cam chain tensioner's in the 06 and newer are as big an issue as to the pre 06 twin cams.
