Hey guys,
I have been scouring the forums and google trying to figure out this mapping business but still don't know where I should start when it comes to changing values with the PC5 maps. I have a 09 Street Bob 96ci with V&H Big Shots Staggered, HD Stage 1 AC and a PC5 with the following map: 15-005-020 *Advanced Map*, Vance & Hines Big Shots Staggered exhaust, Screamin Eagle Air filter, Rev Xtend Enabled, Fuel Table 1 is front cylinder.
Problem is I was getting combined fuel economy of around 42 MPGs before PC5 but now I'm getting 32MPG. I would much rather have my MPGs lifted and sacrifice some performance but don't know which numbers I should change and in what direction. Most of my cruising is 45-75mph. If anyone can give me some tips on where to start I would be greatly appreciative! ...and no I chose not to buy from Fuelmoto to save about $40 and because this all *seemed* pretty simple before I purchased.
Can't provide any great help, I just got mine about a month ago and haven't really had a whole lot of time to play around with it. I too would almost prefer better MPG over the performance. The performance increase was noticeable, but I don't think it's worth it to lose 10 mpg, that's huge when you have to fill up 45 miles before everyone else in the group. I just need to tinker and fine tune the thing.
My thoughts exactly, emerican. Last season I was comfortable riding to about 180 miles on the odometer before looking for gas station exits... now I start searching at 100 and a little panic at 120. So far I have 3 x 2000+ mile trips this summer and those 10 MPGs will count.
A pc-v can carry 2 maps, you can use one for performance and the other for mpg's all you need to do is have the appropriate maps loaded on your pc-v and hook up a toggle switch to it, then mount it somewhere on your bike.
leaning out your map may work for you I don't know , But I have always found when I mod something on my bike I'm always eager to twist the throttle alot and see what I can get outta her, and my mileage goes down, but then I calm down and the mpg's come back!
Hey Madd,
Where do I get this toggle? I saw one on Dynojet's website but couldn't find it for sale. This may come in handy... once I get the mapping part figured out.

Any hardware or electronics place like radio shack, and it should probably cost less than 10$
Where did you get your pc-v?
