Power commander III USB !
And we get it.. the ThunderMax is awesome. You're comparing a tuner that is < $300 with one that is about a grand. Enough already.
The PC can definitely be tuned, so I'm not sure what the dealership was talking about.
Per Zippers website (www.thunder-max.com), the TMax with autotune is 989.95. You're right, it's not a grand. My bad.
My point was that the OP was asking about a PCIII which is $259 from FuelMoto and you recommended a tuner that is (not quite) a grand.

Ok, ok. PCIII USB from powercommander.com is $369.
Under $700 for a Thundermax is unbelievable. You got a great deal, no doubt. Dr. V-Twin has it listed for 899.99! Too bad it's still nearly double the PCIII.

The whole point here is to think about options to the cycle of having to deal with maps every time you make a change, and there are some very good alternatives out there, does it cost money, yes, but there is no cost down the road when you change your AC or pipes, or add cams, or WTF.
You can stick with your PC and call someone for a new map and hope it works, or tinker with it yourself if you want to take the time to learn all about tuning instead of enjoying the ride, every time if you want, or you can spend a few dollars more and not have to deal with that BS.
Anyways, I am done, I offered an alternative, do with it what you will.

There's several fuel tuners out there, between PC III (low end) and ThunderMax/AutoTune (high end). I use a TTS MasterTune (about $400) and a laptop, and tune my bike myself. Look in the Fuel Injection forum on this site; there's great support for all of the different tuners.
