We do not recommend using the slip-ons with out baffles. The 2.25" is a big difference from the 1.75". I would suggest trying the 2.25".
What type of bike do you have? If it's a '10-'12 Dyna Wide Glide with stock head pipes, they have a catalytic convertor in the head pipes and the 2.25" baffle on that bike will sound like the 1.75" on a dyna with open headers such as the Super Glide or Street Bob. I really need to know if your bike has a catalytic converter before I can provide specific advice.

I have a 2012 FXDC. Another question I have for ya Ryan is one of my slip-on's is starting to blue....any ideas on that. I bought new muffler clamps when I got the slip-on's and have them torqued to spec and have also re-checked the torque on more than one occasion the ensure they were ok and each time they were. Thanks in advance for you help!!!!!!!!!!1

The best way to handle warranties is to email some pictures and a description of the issue to sales@rushracingproducts.com. Pictures of chrome come out the best when taken is in the shade on a sunny day with no flash. We have a 5mb limit on incoming email attachments. Also include a list of any engine mods that have been done such as high flow air filter, cams, fuel management. Once we receive some images of the issue our warranty clerk will review them and contact you. If emailing pictures is not possible, please call us to discuss other options.
Feel free to post pics and a description up here if you would like to discuss it and get my opinion but directly contacting us via email or phone is the best way to get the warranty process started.

After talking with Ryan, I ordered my 2.25' slip ons for my '12 Dyna Wide. They sound great, but my question is should I remove the cat on it to make them a little louder? If so, are there 2 cats (1 per pipe)? Will it affect my performance in a negative way, or should I just leave it alone?

I'm pretty sure the cat is in the 2/1-1/2 collector. Removing the cat will open your airflow more. as long as you don't change your intake and fuel you'll be fine. performance wise I doubt you will feel a difference.

YOu definatly only have one catalytic convertor. Its at the base of the headpipe a few inches before the mufflers. Removing the cat and installing rush slipons with a 2.25 baffle will definatly wake it up. Doint this is the same as a having a full exhaust. Benifit removing the cat will keep the stock appearance, that is if you think the tommy gun is what you want.
Look at the 1st post in this thread. A guy removed his cat. He cut around it, removed it and rewelded the plate back on. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...-wrap-etc.html

Yeah, I decided to cut it out. Took about 45 minutes...most time spent was getting rid of all the cat material. I dropped it off at Merlin's and will pick it back up in another hour. $20 to weld it, no problem!
I am going to leave the titanium wrap off the exhaust this time around and just put the heat shields back on. IF I have any decel popping, the XIED's that will be here tomorrow will take care of that.
FINALLY, I am getting the bike the way I want it to be.

Well what seemed like a simple post asking about what would happen if I took out the baffles on my Rush slip-on's on my 2012 Super Glide Custom has turned into something great. Not just with everyone's responses but I have been in communication with Ryan at Rush in regards to not only how they would sound but I had a issue with one the slip-on's turning blue. Guess what.........Customer service is STILL ALIVE...at least it is at Rush Racing... as I thought it had died in today's world. Ryan has been absolutely outstanding in helping me get the bluing issue resolved and helped out in regards to the baffle question. I would recommend Rush to anyone. Thanks to everyone here and also Ryan at Rush Racing!!!!!!!!!
