Hey guys,
This is Ronny from India;very new to the forum and so might ask some very basic questions.
Wanted to get the sound on my street bob up from the standard and was considering the VnH HS straight shots slip ons.Would I need a heavy breather and fuel pack or can I live without them?
Just want the sound and am not bothered by the increase in performance;also Mumbai is a humid and hot place all through the year-would that affect the engine without the remap/heavy breather?
Thanks guys
Ronny
I put them on my 09 Superglide because they were what I could afford then, and I like the way they sound. You can also ghange different baffles to experiment with also. I didn't have any trouble with my tuning it ran great with just a mild backfire now and then on a down shift. Th dealer said I would be ok with that change.
Hi Ronny,
It should be fine. the bigger the baffle the more popping you will get. Stay with the smaller baffle and keep your low end. Also better on your ears.
Do you have additives in the gasoline there?
I put those very slip-on mufflers on a 2009 Street Bob. Never changed the air breather. It ran great. No other changes. Spark plugs looked good at 5,000 and also at 10,000 miles.
I have Vance & Hines longshots on my Fat Boy, with the quiet baffles - and still prefer the sound of those slip-ons on the Street Bob. Plenty loud - and a nice, mellow tone. Got a lot of compliments on that one.
