big ron, thanks for the info. I think both bikes here look great in their own right. I think the black cone blends well on big ron's bike and the oval mount fits FolsomPrisonBlues bike just as well. Swap the two and i don't think they would blend as well.

Here's another Dakota Digital speedo I installed on my bike, a bit more less intrusive, IMHO:
I saw those in the catalog but they did not provide a good illustration of the install. Can you see it when you are riding?

Absolutely! The only thing I wasn't able to get to work properly was the turn signal auto ****-off.

Thanks, Either way you go you will have a better looking solution than the factory set up. I have seen some guys reverse mount their stock speedo on the tank side of the risers which looks pretty good as weill. Another option is to install an Autometer speedo in the stock location or the tank side of the riser. They are 2 5/8 and can be held in place with a simple bracket that mounts to your riser bolts; the Harley stock speedo is close to 4" plus the bracket. The Autometer is WAYYYYY cheaper than the Dakota Digital Options.

If you don't have the speed sensor connected properly the auto cancel signals will not auto cancel.

One of the reasons I went the route I did is I wanted everything to be round. I avoided the squared of bars, irregular shaped mirrors and air cleaner to go with a common theme. I like the Dakota Digital but would have gone with an reverse mount autometer if I had done my research. I prefer the analog over digital.
