I might get a fairing to break up the wind eventually, but I've been on service rentals of bikes with Windshields, doesn't do the same for me, feels too soft. Maybe when I get older and more craggy...
The QD windshield is easily the best MC accessory I've ever bought...after I had it cut down 3". Takes all the wind off my shoulders and torso allowing me to keep my upper body relaxed while still letting my helmet hang out in the wind. Makes highway riding so much more enjoyable. And, I can remove it for riding around town.
No offense to the guys who use them, but if I didn't want to feel the air, I would drive a car.
Oh, you'll feel plenty of wind on a Dyna with a windshield, believe me. It all comes up from underneath the tank, just don't get the blast on yer chest. You certainly do get more respect without the windshield, though. *****, when I take mine off to profile around town I get nods of approval from dudes who look like they just took down the cash register at the local Circle jerK; wistful looks from straight laced nine-to-fiver type dads, and come hither looks from their wives

Exactly how I used to feel, but I think this one has changed my opinion. I'll only use it when the bugs get bad or if I'm going on a long stint on the interstate. I still think it breaks up the "style" of the bike, but you have to make trade offs now and then. Here's a couple of pics I took this morning before I head off to work. I really like the attachment system on this one. Doesn't leave any hardware on the bike when it's removed.
Its simple, Its a choice. You either put a windshield on and it makes your bike ugly becuase thats what they do. It doenst matter how much you try to talk yourself into thinking it looks good. Its like plastic pants over a diaper, a little extra protection but really not cool. Or you go without a windshield and now you look like the dumbass that people see trying to look cool because they wont put on a windshield cause they arent tough or cool. Have you seen how deformed your face looks at 80 Mph? Why do you think people look at you when they pass? I have a detachable. Its great for when I want the bike to to look ugly but not stupid and when I want to look tough but stupid. Its Friday. Stop wasting time pretending to be working and go home. You are not fooling the boss.
