But, I just picked up the quick release one for a Wide Glide on craigslist. It's the one that doesn't leave mounting hardware on the bike. Met the guy at Walmart, (about 30 miles away), clamped it on the bike and took off for home. Doesn't look too bad on the bike and I no longer feel like a drag chute riding. I might get used to it.
Yep, you'll get used to it. Eventually you'll wonder why the heck you didn't put one on a long time ago. When you realize your neck, shoulders etc. no longer ache from high speed cruising down the road. No bugs in the eyes either. maybe I am just getting old but up in the north country, where the bugs are big enough to knock you off the bike, a windshield is a godsend!
Mine don't look bad either....................in the attic.
45 years of riding and never dreamed of getting caught with a windshield, bought a QD a year ago for occasional highway use and practically never take it off. The price we pay to look cool

No offense to the guys who use them, but if I didn't want to feel the air, I would drive a car.
I love feeling the wind, but when I ride all day the leftover wind blowing past the shield is enough to feel it without being totally beat up the next day.
@ WGJC I take my QD off for city riding or the odd ride on a hot day when I know I'll just be cruising, so it's on most of the time!
