Default wheel bearing install tool

anyone bought and used the 22.95 wheel bearing installation tool off amazon from choppercycle it says it fits all 2000-2012 big twins i need it for an 09 fxdc im tired of my harley wheel bearings going out around 7000 mi im going w/all ***** bearings and doin it myself but dont want to spend 300.00 on a tool from harley or jims so if this tool will work im sold

what would it cost if you took the wheel down to your dealer and got him to do it. he could possiably see if there is an underlying problem or faulty bearings

motionpro has a proper installation tool about $90-$100, the rest dont work. others will chime in with some home made tools, threaded rod, wing nuts etc.

Yup...I used 5/8" threaded rod and washers and maybe a 3/4" drive socket, too...worked fine.

well if that worked for u then i will give that a try is the socket for the sprocket side?

also what do i use to remove the old bearings i can hear noise inside the hub so im assuming one of em blew out in there

my dealer has been pretty good to me but i wont be able to get loose wheel to them till sat and would like to have it repaired by then they usally wont install parts not bought at there store and id like to try something else considering this is my second failure

i use this... its a clone of the jims tool... works fantastic at pulling and installing the sealed bearings..theres really no better way to pull these types of bearings than with a tool like this.... be sure to coat the the outside of the bearing and the place it presses into with some grease or antiseize before installing it... makes the bearings go in nice and smooth... average labor price I found for someone else to replace the bearings in my rims was 60-80 bux... thats with the rims off the bike... so this tool payed for intself the very first use...

yup that's the one to get, dont get the cheap ones, they dont work properly anyway!
