I had the dealer install the docking kit on my Bob back when I got the bike. The right side was always loose and rattling and got the "that's the way it is" when asking about it. Now the left side is starting to do it. I tried tightening it up some and originally it seemed to help, but since it has started getting worse. I don't have the instructions and if anyone could scan & email to me, I would be grateful. severed@mindspring.com
I wanna fix this issue once and for all. Any ideas?
yea, I don't know if they used it or not. I can surely disassemble and loctite, but the problem is you can't get it tight enough to stop the movement to start with. It's like something is poorly designed or is stretching/bending.

Did you try adding some SS washers to the assembly to shim it and take up the slack & then loctite? Or another idea might be to add a rubber washer to the backrest assembly to dampen the rattle.
it rattles when nothing is attached. I fixing to pull it apart now and see about adding some washers or figure out if I can do something else to stop it.
I installed the docking kit myself last year & had the same problem. The bolts that come with the kit aren't threaded far enough. I went back to the dealer & got them to give me a couple of chrome flat washers to take up the space between the rear docking bushing & the fender strut/brace. That was all it took. Problem solved.

This is a different problem...not a loose docking bushing.
I had the same problem with my kit. I took two 3/8 stainless flat washers and a cut-off wheel cut slots in the washers so they would slip over the bolt put the slots down so they don't show and tightened the bolts back if you do this you don't have to remove the wiring. every thing is tight and working fine.
