Nice ride, congratulations! I'm waiting to see the '13s before I pull the trigger. Until then I'll keep bopping about on my starter metric. This might sound crazy but I've always had bad luck with even-numbered-year vehicles.

My eye is on the FXDF. Ive already got a list of mods in my head: V&H big radius 2 into 1, HD Chrome wheels, Cobra fi2000, SE breather, possible wide glide rear fender mod, smoked lenses, etc.. .

I was wondering, when I do decide to buy, should I purchase stock and ride it a while to get to know the stock bike or should I take delivery with the mods I want and not look back? Your thoughts?

I would have preferred to ride stock before stage one, but it was financially easier to roll all the upgrades into the bank loan, than it would have been to come up with cash later down the road

FWIW, I've talked to a couple indy shops that told me if I buy new, to wait and put some miles on it first. They said after the 1000 mile service is done at the dealer, that's like the dealer signing off that everything is good to go on the bike. They've said you don't want to put that kind of money into a bike before they sign off on the 1000 mile service. If I buy used and it's got some miles on it, then I can bring it to them whenever I want. Opinions may vary, but it seemed like sound advice to me at the time.
