I really wanted to buy a JM for my fatboy but was worried the filter might be too small. I callled K&N and asked them about the flow as they can tell you how many CFM's their filters will allow. I can't remember the exact amount but that 4" filter will not flow enough for a 96" engine approaching maximum RPM and that is with a clean filter. I contacted JM a couple of times hoping they'd make a slightly larger filter for the bigger engines. I ended up going with a SE stage 1 and bought a Willie G skull cover and also bought the chrome backing plate. Looks great, has leg clearance , and flows sufficient air.

Check out Figure Machine. They have a 4 inch filter version like Joker Machine does but they also have a 5 inch version that is still flatter than the RSD/Arlen Ness/Screaming Eagle filters. Plus they have unlimited options for the filter cover.
I purchased their 5 inch round setup and am very pleased with it.
