Default Crap, stupid me...

Installed the rocker box mounted oil pressure gage yesterday. Started it up and checked for leaks - none. Thought all was well.

Rode to work this morning. Half way there I noticed oil spilling from the tee at a stop light. Darn, darn, darn.

Pushed it home and waiting for everything to cool to repair. Thank god I have HD syn at home. Not sure why it leaked, everything torqued to spec.

Can you use Teflon tape? I used lock tight originally.

I suspect you just used the wrong product and/or didn't let it cure long enough. Loctite make a threadlocker and sealer all in one (#2422) good for 650dg after a 24hr cure time. Removable with hand tools. Med strength.

That's what I figured. Not a mechanic so I followed the instructions...

Word of caution:

Mine had a small leak for a couple years, decided to fix it when I was doing some other stuff. Bottom line I snapped the manifold stud off in the case. I then attempted to pull it out with an EZ-out, snapped that bastard off in the manifold. Thought about trying to drill and tap but said F-it and packed it full of JB Weld. Now my bike has no oil pressure light.

I had the HD oil pressure gauge for about 4 years. It eventually leaked all the glycerin and then the gauge face yellowed. I replaced the gauge with an Autometer gauge last year and it still looks great. Oh yeah, used Teflon tape both times and never had a problem with leakage.

Yes, mine leak all the glycerin out of the guage while I was redoing the tee fitting. Got a new gauge. A little pissed since I didn't do anything to the gauge. just disconnected the hose on the tee.

Such a simple thing to do...

It shouldnt have leaked the glycerin out! Ive only done that over pressuring a gauge or popping off the rubber plug.
