Any 2 into 1 pipe will give you better torque and horse power than a two into two pipe. Therefore any of the 2 into 1's will be better. The short shots are so short that they really don't scavenge the exhaust very well. Plus they are a standard two into 2 pipe.
For my dollar any 2 into 1. I have run Vance and Hines, Thunderheaders, D&D's, Supertrapps, pretty much everything I can think of besides a Bassazni. I ahd an issue with the Thunderheader with the bracket cracking, however it gave better power than the Vance and Hines, and this was a very noticeable difference.
I am not sure what i am going to next, but I am sure it will yield more power than what I have now. My Dyna is a carb so I didn't need a tuner, just a few jets.
My recommendation when you gett a tuner is to get a Dyno tune to get the most out of your setup. It does cost more for a Dyno, but has the ability to make a night and day difference in the way the bike runs.
From now on I am sticking with Carb's if possible as they are so much simpler than the EFI. I guess it's used bikes only for me.
I just went through this and started with BR 2 into 2. Great looking and great sounding, had no problems with them but I wanted more performance and low end. Went with a V & H Pro pipe and there is a world of difference.
