So I posted a thread earlier about cost and pros and cons on full system with high flow and programmer vs just slip-ons. Well I've decided to go all out and I'm looking for a good set of pipes that give good horse power increase. I've heard that Vance and Hines short shots staggered are not the greatest choice for horse power but apparently their competition series 2 into 1 is a good pipe for horse power. Is this true and what types of pipes produce good horse power. Not just Vance and Hines I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks!!
I've got a 2012 street bob. I put the v&h competition series on it and really like it, sound, look, power. Now granted, I went with the pipes and a 103 stage 4 big bore kit right off the bat, but with that set up I dyno at 108 h and 109 t. And she really rips. It's alotta fun. Lol. But, as for comparison, I can't really say cuz I only have had them. Didn't even have the stockers on there for 3 seconds of ride time. And haven't tried anything else. I did my research and sound comparisons and decided to spend the money on them and try them out. So far, love them. Kinda "quiet" at idle and cruise, but the really bark when you get on it or lug it. Outta people seem to really like the thunder header too, but I wanted the Vance and Hines name. I know, pathetic, but I know what I want and I got it.

I can't seem to find your earlier post about pro and cons. Can you pm me the link or post it on here. Thanks in advance.
I've had the stock, then upgraded to V&H slip-ons with a smidgen of added power, and finally to the V&H 2-1 comp with muuuuuch more power. I haven't done a PC yet, just air intake and exhaust, but even with that, the bike definitely has some get-up-and-go now. Only draw back I can see with the V$H 2-1 comp is the price tag; ouch! Other than that, I LOVE these pipes.
One system that produces some of the best power is the Supertrapp Supermeg. It's a 2:1 tunable exhaust so you can adjust the sound level from quiet to loud. It it was in my budget that's what I would put on.
Here is the link to the earlier post. Hope it helps!
Thanks!!! I have Rush slip-on's and love them. 2.25 baffle. Just wondering what the gain would be with a full exhaust. Hopefully there is some good info on your previous thread. Thanks again!!!!
