I definitely want the forward controls and i can buy a full exhaust for what it cost to put forwards on a Super Glide. Love the rake and skinny front tire on the WG but i'm still concerned about maintaining spokes. I like the the dual head light and bobtail fender on the FB but i think the WG has the all around classic look. I also feel like i am more nestled in the WD and more perched on top of the FB but i'm sure a different seat can fix that. Anyway, thanks for the feedback everyone, except for the Victory guy, gin.

Fatbob. Dual disc, that bike is meat to ride.

Softail if you want to ride in a straight line.

As they no longer make the SG standard... go with the super glide custom... Although you may not like having mids for long cruises, i think their great for tooling around town n bar hoppin... for the long rides, i fabbed up a set of highway pegs for like 25-30 bucks as opposed to the 100$ set from HD... Alot of what bike you pick should be based off of what kind of riding you do... more town driving or highway cruising... though i haven't ridden a fatbob, i would think the less rake n fatter tire would make tooling through town easier than the WG... i had to ride my buddies WG home from the bar after a poker run that he well, had a lot of fun at lol... i will say i like the less rake of my super glide compared to his WG

but in the end... the bike picks you, you dont pick it

I was torn between the two as well. After a number of test rides the Fat Bob was the clear winner for a daily rider. Had mine about 6 months now, best decision I ever made. Great bike for my usage.

If your serious about just those two choices and nothing else is to be considered, I would choose the Fat Bob over the Wide Glide if I wanted nothing but a daily driver.

Great advice guys. I will commute to work everyday on 24 miles round trip. Other than that most of my riding will be country back roads, I'm from south Mississippi. Might hit the coast, New Orleans and Jackson every so often and that's about it. Only mods I will do the bike is a stage 1, nothing else. I figured the solid wheels on the FB would make the better cruiser for the southern MS and Louisiana rough back roads.

Either bike is a great choice. Ride both and decide.

Pappy

Hey Pappy, did you have any trouble going from the 250 to that big 103? Any problems getting use to low speed maneuvering and balance? I did the MSF early last may and got me a 250 V-Star to ride until the 2013 HD models are released so I'm almost taking the same route as you. I'd like to know your experiences as they pertain to jumping on a 700+ lb bike to start with.

Thanks,

I really like the sound of the Pro Pipe and wouldn't it look better on the beefier FB than the WG, what y'all think?

Wide Glide ( aka Cool Glide 2010 and up) gets my vote.
