dyna shock mounts

I purchased some Progressive 11" shock for my wifes bike. The top bolt keeps snapping off. She is not heavy, done during normal road conditions.Anyone else have this problem?

I broke an upper shock bolt 2 months ago. I was bottoming out often when I'd hit a pothole or something similar...not good. I added pre-load to my shocks until I seldom (if ever) bottomed out. And yeah, I replaced the stock bolts w/ grade 8"s. I recently replace my 11.5" shocks w. 12.5 inchers. That extra inch of travel lets me back off the pre-load for a softer ride. The bummer for me was when I broke the bolt, I lost the spacer between the shock and the strut. Oh well...that was just another 35 bucks to Harley...

somethings not right if you keep breaking the bolt, who installed the shocks? which side breaks....

If the spacing is not right and the shock is not perfectly in line from top to bottom this might cause it to break. Also- what torque specs were used?
