Default Stage 1 Question

Currently I have only Cycle Shack slip-ons on my 2010 Fat Bob, the rest is stock. I am thinking about adding an intake. If I add an intake will I need to have my bike remapped? Which intake will work without having to remap?
Is Stage 1 worth the cost and will I feel any difference?
Thanks

Norb,

I felt a difference in throttle response for sure. I would recommend calling Jamie at fuel moto and getting a package.

When I did my stage one I went with a HD SE backing plate, K&N unbranded filter, and a PCV fuel manager. Was worth every penny. There are several other fuel management systems out there and they vary in functionality and price. For my purposes the PCV was the perfect choice.

Fuel moto provides the pcv mapped to the pipes you have. It eliminates the need to have the bike dyno tuned. All you do is plug the pcv into your bike, and install the intake.
They also provide lifelong map support if you should change out components, ie: switch pipes,etc...

Worth every penny.

Good luck.

Cheers,

Tom

My bike lost power after I put my Reinhart 2 - 2 pipes and aircleaner. The engine was obviously running leaner than before. I got the dealer download and have never looked back. The idle came back down, and the throttle response much improved and the power came back.

At the time, that was all I was going to do to the engine. That was 5 years and 10,000 miles ago.

I just "pulled the trigger" today on deeper mods to my engine. 103" cylinders, 255 cams, 10.5 pistons and a programmer.

If I would have bought a programmer in the first place, I could reuse it. Now the dealer download money is wasted.

Another happy Fuel Moto customer, here. The bikes run lean from the factory to meet EPA requirements. A better breathing intake necessitates a re-mapped ECM

More than likely, IMO ,your ECM learned to handle the mods and adapted. The dealer download does not change the amt. of fuel delivered, or very little if so.

Money wasted ya I agree but your not alone, I've had one too!

You are actually a prime example that changeing the pipes and A/C won't damage your engine.

A pair of Xied's will deliver more fuel for 100$ as an option to buying a tuner, but haveing a good tuner will help alot more in the long run. I have a powervision and the bike has never run stronger.

I also have the setup you are about to upgrade to, all I can say is.... Your gonna love it!

Another HAPPY FuelMoto user here. Do not waste your $ on the HD Stage #1 flash. Most of us say we wont do anything else but pipes and intake but as time goes on we do. Get a tuner (not SE) you wont regret it. IMO....
