Default Hd shipping policy

brought my bob in for some warranty work on 1/12. wanted to have the injectors changed to the 25 degree setup. my engine light kept coming on while i was riding, and the fuel gauge would read empty after using 2/ 3 gallons of gas. today i called the dealer and he informed me they were waiting on the sending unit for the fuel gauge. and it would take 5/7 working days or longer for harley to ship the part. i asked him if he was kidding me . he said no ,welcome to the wonderful world of harley shipping. they would ship it overnite if i paid the freight. Has harley always treated there customers with such loyal service. Ican understand the value of cutting costs but i didn,t buy a bike to sit in the shop over 2 weeks for some simple warranty work. just had to vent a little Thanks 58nluvnit

Yup....I had something simiar happen last summer. My bike kept dying on me (sometimnes at freeway speed surrounded by traffic...lots of fun). They changed out the injectors...didn't help. Said I needed a new fuel pump and that HD was backordered on the pumps. Would be 8 weeks before teh pump showed up...and by they way, we have to keep your bike the entire time (something about liability, blah, blah, blah). I asked them to find a pump, which they did and I was told I could have it shipped overnight if I paid for it. I said ok b/c I wanted my bike back. Pump never showed up and when the backordered pump finally showed up 8 weeks later, they then found out that the pump in my tank was ok....a faulty connection was sapping voltage to the pump. They put an 8 cent washer on it and sent me out the door...after my bike sat in their shop for 8 weeks. I was pissed....and the moter still dies. Nice......

Only one time did I ever need a part that they didn't have other than a tire. They overnighted it from HD.
I'm guessing it depends on your dealer.
