Off topic...did you remove the H-D tank emblems with heat? I've used hair dryer to remove the reflectors from forks and rear fender before on other bikes but now I want to take off the emblems on the tank. Hoping I can do it with just the hair dryer heat without scratching the tank.

No, I didn't have to. I started lifting one edge with my fingers till it came loose then grabed the lifted part with vise-grips and pulled. You have to watch and make sure that the emblem doesn't fold (it is cheap as hell) and come into contact with the paint. You also need to pull the towards the direction of the end of the emblem that you started on.
example: If you start at the front you should pull at about a 20* to 30* angle away and to the front, this help keep the emblem from bending.
I did do this with outside temps at close to 80* so a hair drier could help in colder weather.
Yeah, that will help. That was my main concern, the cheap POS emblems bending so I'll use your method. I may wait until warmer weather anyway. Won't be waxing the bike in this weather and having to wax around them things. Thanks for the tips.
Try using Dental Floss. Long piece, double if you have to, just under reflector or emblem, start one side put to back legnthwise, keep hands close to strut or tankthen use Goo-Gone for sticky stuff left over. If you have non shinny pain as in the denim veriety try the Goo Gone on some spot you cant see to see if reacts with paint.
