Smile Hello Everyone, New Poster

Hello All, New poster here. Posted in the New member's area, but wanted to post here also and say hi. I have been a member for a few years, but have been lurking. I just turned 53. First Harley was a 1990 Sportster 883. Had it for less than a year, lost it to a Bankruptcy when the wife got sick and lost her job. You know how life gets in the way, raised my son, got laid off from a job I had for 18 years, moved a few times, found another good job. In 2008, I bought a Dyna Super Glide, son bought a V-Rod (Yeah, I know, kids!). Had it for six months, Friday February 13th, Waco Tx, knuckle head cager in a Chevy pickup ran a stop sign, managed to get on the brakes and steer it a bit before impact, hit the left front drivers wheel, wife and I ejected over the hood of the truck, landing 30-40 feet down the highway. No real issues, took an ambulance ride, six hours in the hospital, just some bumps and bruises, The Good LORD had on his catcher's mitt that night! 3-4 months later, all healed, insurance paid off the totaled bike, son says let's go get ya a new ride, wound up with a 2009 Softail Fat Boy. April 2010, had to have a triple by-pass, doc says stay off the bike for at least two years, no where to store it, didn't want the payment and not ride it for two years, (wife and i are currently living with relatives out in the boonies), wound up trading it for a small truck. That's my sorry story. Working a bunch of overtime to pay off the medical bills, then, going to purchase another ride, Sportster or Dyna, haven't decided yet. It's not pretty huh? I am sorry for the long post.

welcome to the site. That is a pretty bad sting of luck you had for a while.

Smile Lol, yep

True, but, I am healthy, and confident, that the future holds many more memory making times.

Welcome to the forum. Good to hear from another survivor. On vacation a couple of years ago and got nailed from the back. Guy was running from the cops, hit me at a clocked 108 mph. They picked me up 306 feet from point of impact. 5 months, 3 different hospitals. Broken pelvis, broken back, 16 brakes in the ribs, collapsed lung, skull fracture. Zero road rash. Covered up with Fox Creek Leathers. Dude got sentenced to 10 years in a Ga. pen. No probation, no parole. Straight 10. I have issues but can walk and ride a bit. Stay strong mentally, being alive with problems is way better than being dead with no issues. I'm 56 by the way. Stay strong, live long.
