I watched some videos last night of both cars and bikes pinging and this is exactly what I am hearing. Taking it back today. am going to take some video with sound on the way there incase they tell me they can't hear it.
My main concern right now is that we leave Sunday morning for Sturgis. If this is indeed pinging and they still "dont hear anything" and we load another 1000 miles on the bike, are we taking a huge risk? Several dealerships told me they all do it and not to worry about it.
Just got back. Tech said he richened it a bit. Pops less, but still sound like bbs in a can if you roll on in 4th or 5th. Guess it is what it is at this point. I did not get a new synopsis sheet...will richening it change my HP/tq numbers or curves?

Yes, it will impact your numbers. If it is still pinging, then I would take it back again. Simply adding fuel may not be enough. I had to pull timing out of the canned FM map on my PCV to make it go away.
I don't remember seeing which tuner you had. Is it something that you can manipulate?
If you can't get it squared away before Sturgis, I would at least take it real easy on the rides.. particularly in 4th and 5th gears.
I got home with it and he left the electrical cover off the bike, so I had to ride back across town for it! It smelled like fuel and ran like crap the whole way, so I had him re-load the original map. I asked if it was a timing issue and he just said they all do it due to our 91 octane gas and high summer temps. I guess I'll have to just take it elsewhere for a tune. It is the SERT by the way...I assume timing can be controlled with this?
Just got off the phone with another dealer....whole different experience. The service writer said they were booked solid due to Sturgis, but he would talk to his master tech/engine builder and call me back. 15 minutes later, the master tech called me himself and we had a long conversation. He is going to put the bike on his dyno tomorrow, check over everything and retune the bike. He seemed like he really knew his stuff. He said he will adjust timing and fuel and was very confident he can get rid of the ping. Results to follow...
