Default Mid-Control frame plugs/bolts??

Previous owner installed forward controls on my FXDX. I want to plug the frame holes from the Mid-controls with some sort of a plug or stainless bolts. There are some plastic black plugs in a couple but one or two are missing and I'd rather do stainless bolts. Does anyone make this or does anyone know the size/thread of the holes so that I can find some bolts to fill the holes???

I think they are 3/8-18. But not sure.

Be sure to do something to them. when i put my passenger peg mounts on the right side four years later had to tap both of them. could not get the bolts in too rusted.

thanks for the info. Denim bob, do you remember the tap size you used?

I'd like to get a definitive answer so that I can order some allen-head plugs or something similar...

You might want to consider running the mid pegs. It sure is nice to be able to move your feet back for a while when you're making a long run.

yeah, I've thought about getting the mid-controls, but I don't have the factory ones as the previous owner didn't have them. I'm sure they aren't cheap from the dealer either...

Easy to come by here on the forum or ebay. Tons of guys go to forward controls and have mids laying around.

I think with the FXDX, mid-controls are the only way to go! Then get some highway pegs

I'd put in some grease and plug them with OEM PLUG, p/n 740.

OEM SCREW, 3/8-16 X 1-1/4 socket hd. (thd. cutting) is p/n 3214.
