I just removed and replaced the rear tire on my Dyna. It was the first time and I thought I would need to remove the caliper from the bracket. In the end I guess I didn't, but here is my concern: Now the the caliper is replaced, all the bolts, bushings etc. are in the correct place, but the caliper freely moves a little less than 1/4" rotating around the front bolt/pin. I haven't been able to ride the bike to test it fully, but it seems to be working fine as I rock it back and forth. Is this normal? The way it's designed I can't see how it could be made tighter and the bushing and rubber sleeve on the rear most hole don't fill it.
Thanks for any insight anyone can give me.
it's normal.
as long as you did torque all the nessarsary bolt's as per manual.
i was worried the first time i ever took my rear wheel off, for a tyre replacement, i checked a few fxdc that were on the showroom floor, they all had the same amount of free play in regard's to the caliper.
grumpy.
