Default Installed Woods tw6-6 cams.....

first of all, thanks to the members i emailed/called asking questions about these particular cams, my mind was set on these and i bugged a few different people.

It took me maybe a month to collect all the parts. Since im at 35k miles I replaced every part in the cam area. i ordered new chains, tensioners, o-rings, inner b168 bearings, lifters, adj push rods etc. so i should be good for another 35k miles...

i definitely took my time on the install as i have a 14 month old that loves her daddy and is always attached to my hip lol

so anyways I started on thursday night after work by removing the tank, exhaust, drained the oil and removed the right side mid control/brake rod and called it a night.

Friday after work around 6pm my buddy came over to help/ learn about the cam swap since he also has a dyna. (big thanks to Rob for the help).
we got everything disassembled, lubed up and re-assembled in the cam chest and stopped for the night about 11pm.

Sat morning i got up early and filled her with oil, installed the rockers, breathers and rocker covers and installed the adj push rods. and let them sit for most of the day as i had errands to run.
got home that evening and readjusted the push rods and put the pipes tank etc back together fired her up and called it a night.

Sunday I was Mr mom as my wife had to work so i had to wait for my daughter to take a nap to go out and change the PCIII map and hope the bike would run better. so i get the map changed and rode her around the block and right before i get back into my driveway the rear exhaust push rod tube starts spitting oil haha so i reseated the o-ring and now everything is good and ran better than it did with the old map.

Today was the maiden voyage to work (about 35 miles) the bike runs decent, and i can feel the cams torque kick in around 2200 rpm and pulls all the way thru the power band, i have to be honest i was expecting/hoping for a lot more as ive never had cams before but im definitely happy with the outcome for sure.

Hopefully once i get it to a dyno tuner itll bring the beast out...

heres a pic with all the powdered parts installed

now she's due for a full detail....

Glad to hear it went well. Give us a review of the new cams once you've had a chance to ride with them for a bit.

Never mind I didn't read your thread properly. When I see rocker boxes off, I always think people keep the stock pushrods. When I did my last TC88, I cut the stock push rods with bolt cutter, rocker covers stayed on.

Chris, if you get a chance this weekend, take it up to Hells Kitchen and you'll really get a feel for what those cams can do.

Just wondering why you bothered pulling the rocker covers and rockers seeing as though you used adjustable push rods anyway? Was there a reason or just didn't want to cut your standard ones?
