Road 6 customs bars. 14 inch bars with 12 inch cables. They were great with customer service, powdered them black for me. I'm 5'11" and they are an extremely comfortable ride. You can see in the pic below that they are mounted angled with the tree rather than more upright like most. Although upright does look much better, the comfort for me is better like this.
Sure did. My plan was to sink the gauge into the tank and lower the profile of the dash. Once the dash came off and an inspection of the tank was done, I was going to lose so much space in the tank since HD jammed so much factory **** in there. That project would be far too much for someone with my skill set. Instead of getting 250 miles out of a tank that looks too big (IMO), I would be getting 180 miles out of a tank. I really want a new tank but can't fathom giving up fuel capacity or screwing with whats inside the tank.
Once the tank came off I brought the dash to a local shop with some questions and the owner ended up shaving and cutting the dash down, with his wife doing body work on the tank to smooth the area where the dash ran down.
I didn't mean to give anyone the impression I personally did this work. I would probably take on the project, but am currently in the process of moving and do not have any tools. Just wanted to show off and let people who hate the stock tank as much as I do that there may be some options out there.

It's a pretty slick mod. You gave me an idea for something I hadn't thought of before. I may have to pick an extra dash one of these days and see what I can do with it.
LOVE the look of this mod! Contemplated doing something similar as an alternative to getting RID of my Street Bob dash an moving the Speedo to the handlebars ala Sportster (Iron 883). I like how you smoothed out the ridge on top of the tank which provides a nice "canvas" for graphics or a mural. Just another of my future mods "Wish List"!
