Combination Digital Speedometer/Analog Tachometer - 4" for 04-11 Dynas
Dyna Glide ModelsSuper Glide, Super Glide Sport, Super Glide Custom, Dyna Glide Convertible, Super Glide T-Sport, Dyna Glide Police, Dyna Switchback, Low Rider, Street Bob, Fat Bob and Wide Glide.
Just installed one on my '11 Wide Gide this afternoon. Easy to do and a perfect fit. Just follow the instructions for syncing with your ECU, protect your tank and the console during console removal / speedo removal / reinstallation and you'll be dancing in about 15 minutes.
Hardest part was programming the colors...
Photos are from the garage and show the speedo in "night mode" with the colored backlighting. During the day, it's a grey with white display in the lcd panel.

Now that just pisses me off, ****in waited 2 yrs for that and ordered the dakota one a month before this come out, gggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrr,
Speedo looks sweet I have half a mind to order one, but then my dakota one would be a paper weight? is there a way to reset a dakota one on another bike if I was to sell it?
Gear indicator is calculated while riding based on RPM and speed. So, unless someone is willing to deal with looking at the default "8" in the setup routine, the only way you'll "see" it is if someone takes a picture of their speedo while they are riding. When you pull up to a stop, the #1, #2, #3 disappears.
No kidding, the only thing I wish they'd done is to offer a dual analog display like the 5" speedo, i.e., a dial indicator for the tach and speedo vs. the analog tach with digital speedo.
Frankly, the color combinations are the nuts.... Way too many options with 600 colors that you can apply to either the entire display or to each of the three elements: tach gauge, indicator needle, LED display.
Dumb question. Being that neither the street Bob, wide glide have tachs. How does the tach get info? Does all that info run from the ecu?
Yes, it comes out out of the ECU.
ECU's have more data than you'd know what to do with.
I have a $150 ScanGauge II in my Toyota Tundra that plugs into the ODB-II port and provides 3x the same data that the $2000 "on board computer" options provide: http://www.scangauge.com/products/scangaugeii/. You can watch throttle body position, real time fuel economy, voltage, etc...
The ECU's in your Harley are processing tons of data... so getting RPM out of it is child's play. Again, gear position is not based on a mechanical position switch that's connected to your shift linkage or transmission, it's a calculated value based on the RPM and vehicle speed pulled from the ECU.
I totally want one!!! That thing is what I've been waiting on for years and have drooling over all the 5" ones while waiting on a 4". It was definitely a disappointment last year when they released the 4" for the '12's only. Now I just have to scrape together the cash.
