Easy, inexpensive, fast fix is the XiED. You can read all the details about it HERE.

The Plug-n-Play XiED richens the Air Fuel Ratio from 14.6:1 to 13.8:1 in closed loop mode.
For a 2012 Dyna I think he'll need the FL-XIED®-10 because of the smaller O2 sensors.

Also, to be a tad pedantic, the richest these will achieve will be about 14.0:1.

(By the way, Kevin...had some Triple Trap pegs from you recently - they are great! Thanks).
A good ending. They putting some SE slip-ons on now?

This is a good lesson for anyone going this route. Short shots are just not good pipes, performance-wise. They are a lousy design for anything other than looks and they perform worse than the stock pipes on the dyno at all but red-line revs.

Also, the dealer stage-1 map is a complete and utter waste of money and no one should ever consider it. All it does is raise the rev limiter a little - that's it, nothing else. The bike can cope with stage-1 pipes and air cleaner just as well for free.

So, a bad combo of parts.

I'd recommend taking the advice given earlier and fit yourself some Xieds once its done. You can always whip them off if you are bothered about them during any warranty work. The bike will run much better with them for as long as you run without a tuner.[/]
Amen brother!

Yes they are giving me the SE slip-ons.

I am not interested in lots of power just a little louder sound without all tweaking. If I wanted to go fast I would have bought a rice burner like had when I was a kid.

Lesson learned for Sure. I should have found a very nice older carburated model with low miles, but impatience got the best of me and I wanted a warranty.

Plus my wife gave me the ok on my 20th wedding anniversary so I did give her a chance to change her mind.

How much difference do the XIEDs really make? I will do some research.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Hey, thanks for the catch.

Yes, it would be the FL-XiED-10 or the FL-ViED-10 for the 2012 Dyna...not the XiED.

The FL-ViED-10 will go a little richer than the FL-XiED-10

LINK to all the XiED family.

The Plug-n-Play FL-ViED-10 richens the Air Fuel Ratio from14.6:1 to a range of 14.3-13.9:1 in closed loop mode.

Thank you for the feedback on the Triple Traps. That is what I am running on both of my bikes right now!

Immediate Benefits:
 • Lower Engine Temperature
 • Lower Exhaust Temperature
 • Improved Throttle Response
 • Reduced Surging
 • Reduced Pinging
The FL-ViED-10's are a cost effective alternative to an aftermarket tuner & dyno runs. FL-ViED-10's will cool your bike down and make it run better.

There is an indirect richening of the open loop fuel mixtures through the learning mode, or adaptive fuel value action built into your ECM. This ensures the richer 13.8-12.5:1 AFR's are ALSO adjusted in heavy/full throttle operation.
