One of my local dealers is having a sale tomorrow.
I can get the following:
V&H Staright Shot Slip Ons
SE Stage one breather
Stage one Harley Download
All for $453.37
They want 237.00 in labor to put them on.
I know how to install everything. They told me the pipes will void my warranty, but if they put them on I will have no worries, because they will warranty everything.
I have new 2012 Dyna SGC with 4,000 miles on it and its only two months old.
They actually told you they would void your warranty if you put the slip-ons on yourself?
They can't do that, the only thing they can void warranty on are anything YOU add to the bike. They can't void the warranty of the motorcycle.
they lied to you.. putting on pipes will NOT void your warranty , ask them to show you in your warranty contact where it says pipe changes will void the warranty ? they are ripping you off
I think he meant it would void the warranty on the pipes, not the bike itself. If not, that's what the dealer meant. If the dealer installs accessories they will warranty it...if you install you're on your own if something isn't right or happens during installation.
Warranty issues aside, that's still a great price.
On the warranty, changing pipes and using the EPA approved download should not void your warranty. Now once you put non EPA approved pipes, and have it tuned on the Dyno you have essentially made you bike not legal for road use in some states and according to the EPA. So ya, you've voided your warranty. Most dealers don't go by this and still uphold the warranty for now.
