I have a 2012 street bob and I've been experiencing a hard start every so often. It seems to happen only after the big is warm.
I start the bike and the speedo display displays some type of error message. At the same time, it sounds like the starter engages but doesn't have the juice to turn the motor over. If I hold the start button for a few seconds longer, it eventually starts. Anyone have the same issue or insight?
2012 Wide Glide with the same issue. happens sometimes after bike has been ridden for a while and then shut off. go to start it again, starter engages but doesn't turn over and get something like 'lo vltg' error message. happens probably 1 out of 10 times.
2012 Wide Glide with the same issue. happens sometimes after bike has been ridden for a while and then shut off. go to start it again, starter engages but doesn't turn over and get something like 'lo vltg' error message. happens probably 1 out of 10 times.
Same here. Only after the bike has been ridden for a while.
I have the same thing with my 2010 Street Bob. Only after its warm. A couple times its ended with a hard knock in rear cylinder. It starts fine on the second try. I've never had an error message. I replaced the plugs recentley and it didn't fix it. I will probably replace the battery soon. I've heard people say to get on the starter before the fuel pump is done when warm to correct this. I haven't done it enough times to tell for sure. Also, I've heard of people having to replace the starter ring gear, because it's junk and gets chewed up. I recentley checked mine through the inspection cover when I was changing the primary fluid. Didn't really see anything wrong with it, but I will pull the outer primary cover this winter and take a closer look. My bikes out of warranty, but I bet HD will take care of it for you if yours is still in warranty.
Im in Australia, have exactly the same problem on my 2011 streetbob. Went back to the dealer, they said i need to fit decomps cause I run a basic 103" with 204 cams... Which is total bs...
