Question Help!! - Will a 200mm tire fit a stock 17" FXDC rim?

I am converting my tires to Whitewalls. I changed the front, but I had alot of problems finding a 17" rim version. I finally found the VEE RUBBER VRM-302R. Their only 17" version is a 200mm. I have a 180mm Screaming Eagle with no clearance issue. I wanted to check if no mods are required to go bigger to a 200mm. Has someone put a 200mm on their scoot?

Also I heard bad news about Vee Rubber Whitewalls looking cream colored. The dealer states those issues are now fixed and showed me the tire available. Looks bright white to me but I did not pull the trigger until I confirmed fit.

no... a 200 will not safely mount on a 4.5 inch width rim... you need a 5.5 or a 6 ... I have a 200 on the back of my bike but I am running a 17 inch crossbones wheel

You'll get differing opinions but I agree with the above answer

The standard wheel width is not sufficient to "safely" take a 200mm. It is possible to fit it but not advisable. I took my original hub and had new rims laced onto them made spacing a lot easier - I went with 18x5.75 should have gone with. 17 as there a lot more tyre choices - live and learn

Yes mate I was led to believe there were more choices with the 18" but now it seems there are more with the 17"....

By going to 17's you get the choice if nice sticky sports bike tires, and with Harley's crappy brakes that is always a benifit
