Ok, what quick detachable sissy bar side plates do I need?
I'm having a helluva time getting my sissy bar setup how I want it to be. The bike (96 Dyna) came with the factory seat and what I was told was the factory quick detach sissy bar. I'm skeptical because it doesn't fit with the factory seat. The passenger pillion is wider than the bar allows for, so it wouldn't fit unless you REALLY smooshed it up, which would ultimately damage the seat. When I bought my 2 piece Mustang seat, the pillion does not go as far back, so it fits while pressing up against the front of the sideplates. It works, but I'd prefer a taller setup.
Anyway, I bought another setup from an 0-something Dyna, which proved to be too wide. The sideplates fit on the quick disconnect points (10.5" bolt to bolt), so was going to use it with Jackyl's tour pack mount. Well, it doesn't work. The later sideplates fasten to the bike, but the uprights are too far forward, so even the Mustang pillion doesn't fit.
What the hell do I need for this thing? There are no numbers on the plates I currently have. Thanks, guys.
