Default Suspension question

My front suspension was bottoming out so I had the fork oil replaced.. The dealer said the fork oil was fine and either my springs r shot or there r lowering springs in it... It not as bad now but my front end still dives pretty hard when braking.. What do u guys think

if the springs are sacked out really only option is to replace them... you can also try to run a bit thicker fork oil like 15w but if the springs are shot that will not fix anything

Is replacing the springs as easy as taking the top off of the forks?

I have a similar situation with my low rider the springs are weak. Temporarily I changed the dork oil to 10wt and made a 5/8 spacer to go between the cap and spring for more pre-load actually works quite well. I'm planning a full on suspension upgrade later this year. You should have about 25% sag in the front forks when sitting on the bike in full gear. Mine was close to 40% and now its at 23% this is what worked for me anyways.

Heavier oil will not make up for a weak spring. In some cases it could be worse. All heavier oil does is slow the suspension movement. If it slows it too much then you get poor handling. Still not a replacement for a properly selected spring.
