Default 14 inch apes question

I have 12's on mine now, was fixing to order 14's....Until i relised that its not that simple, or is it? I am use to my hand position with the 12's and would like to keep it the same, as far as angle, then i read there is pull back, center width, what the hell does all this mean?Is all the angles the same as far as the grips? i want the same thing as I have now, except 14's.Couldnt find a part number on my bars and they were on there when I bought the bike, Any help appreciated...THANKS

You can check here, for where the measurements are generated from: http://blog.jpcycles.com/2010/04/how...le-handlebars/

You will likely need cables if you are going bigger. When I got my 14 inch road 6 customs I was concerned about the same measurements. But, it is also how you mount the bars on the bike itself. You can angle them however you want.

I can tell you, I am 6 foot and wish I went with 16's, but don't have a single complaint with the 14's. Try a local shop, they can likely make you whatever you want as a 1 off which will be cool, and bars are not a lengthy or complicated process for most fabricators.

Pic for reference, as to how the bars are mounted on the bike. More in line with the forks rather than straight up from the mounting points which will look cooler, but may not be as comfortable

Thanks for the reply gbrandano! yes, mine is kinda straight up from the forks too. I also seen some that were "adjustable" as far as hand angle ,like a swivel if you will.. ...ehh...i dunno about that, sure would hate for one of the bolts to come loose!!
