I am buying a 02 FXDP and it has V&H short shots and they are nice looking but damn they are a loud pair...I may sell them and fo with SE or something quieter...Or i may try the DK Customs...
im thinking about getting short shots for my iron. i dont understand how they can be TOO loud. To me, the louder, the better. these must be some pretty loud puppies.

If i have ear plugs in they are fine...I ride an Electra Glide with SE touring pipes so they are mild compared to the SS...They sound good. but they crack loud when you get on them...
just changed out my V&H pipes for some used Rineharts....wow what a difference. The V&H (stock baffles) sounded raspy and a little too high pitched for my taste. The Rineharts have a great deep sound. I'd never go back to V&H after having these now...
Definitely install V&H's "quiet baffles" or a competitor's equivalent. The will beef up the sound by lowering the tone, as well as giving back some lost back pressure. When I put them on my Nightster I thought I'd be taking them off within a week. But as time went on they really grew on me. But to each his own.
The Thunder Torque Inserts work great with the Short Shots to deepen the tone a bit, and increase the low & mid range power significantly. Use the W118's.
Come on mate! I love a bit of crackle and pop on decel!!
If we don't wanna hear our bikes growl and bark while we rip the throttle back then why are we riding!!??
The short shots are great pipes, staggered or not.
But suit yourself, dunno, you might be setting up your bike to match your Prius?
Ok, jokes and **** taking aside, I'm sure if you take it down to your dealer they can sort you out with some V&H quiet baffles. Happy scootering haha
