I bought a Low Rider with V&H short shot originals on it. They sound like I'm riding in a tin can and I'm really tired of the decel pop. Is there anything I can do to make them sound and function better without changing them out? The V&H baffles only work with the SS staggered. Any help is appreciated.
Previous owner removed the baffles. Will the BCT baffles help without the "stock" ones in there?
Yeah running with no baffles can do that. By looking at the website, it looks like the BCT baffles take place of the stock baffles so I'm going to say yes, but I can be wrong.
Phew. I was hoping he had an isolated case of not liking the V&H.
I was planning on getting the staggered version maybe over winter. I do have Bub 2-2 megaphones on there now...but I like the look of the V&H.
I have the cheese grater baffles from my 2006 SSS pipes. They have 9k on them if you want them you can have them for free plus shipping but I would go with BCT. I love the sound and performance. If you want them send a pm..
You can run some cheap lollipops. That usually creates just enough back pressure. I used two small L-Brackets and washers that were about 2/3 of the diameter of the exhaust pipe. I installed them about two inches from the end of the exhaust.
Check out DK Customs "Thunder Torque" inserts. Basically the same a BCT for about 20 bucks. Definitely helps with bottom end torque too. I run one in my Bassani.
