Default Why does right grip vibe more than left?

I've been noticing lately that the right/throttle grip seems to be vibrating more than the left to the point that it causes moderate discomfort and numbness in this hand. My past experience is that, if anything, the right grip is sometimes a little smoother than the left due to the brake fluid reservoir acting as an additional damper.
Regardless, I've checked the riser bolts, clamps, and hand control screws and found no issues; I'm starting to think that perhaps it has something to do with the throttle cables? I prefer to run mine as tight as possible without any binding at the left and right turn limits, but I'm wondering now if I should put some more slack into them to eliminate some of these vibes. Anyone have any experience and/or other comments relating to such?

Default Right Grip Vibrates more

If you figure this one out please post. My 09FXDC has developed a right grip vibrates more than the left scenario recently. It is more obvious at idle but still there as the rpm's increase. I'd like to find the cause.

It's because the left grip gets fastened or glued down because it doesn't need to rotate. The right grip has a little bit of space to rotate, so it's not 100% flush. Bugs the hell out of me too....mine actually wiggles from left to right just a little bit and I cant figure out how to fasten it. I've tried everything except the correct thing...

True. The right side grip fits loose so it can rotate freely. My suggestion would be to wear gloves. I feel mine vibrate but it doesnt bother me at all. Part of what makes a Harley-Davidson is that it doesn't run smooth. In fact part of the reason for putting bigger cams in is to make it run less smooth at idle.

I started to get more vibration in my throttle grip a while back, also noticed the mirror vibrated more so than the clutch side. I replaced my front motor mount and it appears to be back to normal. This might not be your issue but it may be worth checking out. Several threads on here that helped me determine mine was bad.

You may want to try shimming your front motor mount. There are serveral post here on the Forums that address this subject. Some mixed results, but it makes good sense to me.....

Hope this helps.

Best wishes....Tim(HT)

I can read a license plate in my left mirror, but can only tell "it's a car" in my right. I've done the motor mount thing (actually, the dealer fixed/shaved it under warranty).

It's not just the grip, it's the whole right handlebar, I think.

Whatever it is, it's odd. I mean, the left and right side ARE connected. Not like I have clip ons,

maybe misaligned bars? or maybe bad riser bushing in the right side?

The right grip is definitely lose compared to the left, but I can't say I've ever noticed more vibration. I always wear gloves.

I just swapped out my FXDB mini apes for 10" z bars last night and then today I realized that I actually have the opposite problem. My left side vibrates worse.
