Default Decent 11" shock

Ive been running some Burly Slammers on my Fat Bob for a while now and while I love the look, the ride is starting to beat me up. On normal roads they are fine but back roads in Louisiana SUCK. So does anyone make a decent 11" shock? I dont want to give up the lowered look but my *** and kidneys need a better ride.

I installed a set of Standard Duty Progessive 430's. I like them a lot...

My progressive 440s are pretty good in 11.5" I think they are 11.5 they are .5" lower than stock Street Bob. They are a much better ride than stock even being a little bit lower.

You have any pics from the side? I have a WG fender so it would give me a good idea if I'll like the look on my bike. Also do you ever ride 2 up?

Ive heard good things about the 440s but I also thought the stock Fat Bob shocks rode pretty decent. I really want to keep the lowered look and I just cant see dropping the coin for only a 1/2" drop.

No matter how you slice it, giving up 1 inch of your rear suspension travel is a hard thing to overcome. A lot of the roads that I ride around here also suck. I tried Progressive 440's in the 11 inch size and no matter how they were adjusted the ride was way too harsh. But damn, they looked good.
I don't know what you can get in a short travel shock that will give you some more comfort but the person I would ask is Howard at Motorcycle Metals. You may not like what it could end up costing, but that's the form vs. function decision you have to make.

Yea. Its always a compromise. Im not expecting it to ride like a Caddy. Just better than the Burlys. I'll take your advice and give him a call. Ive been looking at Legend air ride but damn thats a chunk of change to drop. But Im planning on getting some bigger wheels too soon so maybe I'll be able to fill the fender better and keep the look I want while running a longer shock. Its just hard to give up this look. lol

Progressive. Makes a 10" there ok but go with the heavy duty ones I got the cheaper ones and both shocks are blown. Or go to your stock and get the front end springs.

Get a half way decent 12 inch shock and use one inch lowering blocks. I did that on my Low Rider. All the travel of the longer 12 inch shock with the look and style of the 11 inch shock.

Thought about that but Ive heard alot of negative comments about lowering blocks. Cant remember exactly what all the complaints were but Im going to do some searching and see what I can find.
