shock fitment
my buddy has an 82 wide glide i told him id give him my stock shocks off my 09 fxdc the 82 shocks measure 12in eyelet to eyelet the 09 12 1/2 i think it will work my ? is any adj needed on the chain to comp for xtra 1/2 and the top mounting bolt on the 82 looks alot smaller than the 09

Just take care when fitting them to the older bike check to see if they need spacers at one end, don't just bolt them up. After fitting them check chain tension and adjust if necessary. If the swingarm axle is lower than the rear wheel axle the chain will tighten very slightly, if the swingarm axle is higher the chain will loosen a little, but not much in either case IMHO.
