I guess I'm the guy that has to ask it. Has anyone tried putting a car muffler inside of their tail pipe? I've searched a little and came up empty. Like this.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Aluminiz...sories&vxp=mtr
For now I've got a 2008 FXDF exhaust with lollipops on my 2007 WG. They are toooo loud. My neighbors haven't complained, but folks down the street are giving me dirty looks at 6:00AM.
I'm not looking for the suggestions of BCT or the like. I've gota be different.
You could put a newer Fat Bob or Wide Glide Tommy gun headpipe on, it has a catalytic in it and having tried it both ways it does baffle the sound a bit having the catalytic ceramic honeycomb in the collector. Also the test results done in various shops show no significant change in exhaust flow of catalytic vs non catalytic. So it would be a change in sound only. Or get rid of the lolipops and buy some quieter slip ons. The only car exhaust that has been used and doesn't look like total crap is cherry bombs and they are loud too.

I thought about a newer pipe, but my 07 came without a cat, and the factory baffles were way too tame.
I don't think look will be an issue if I can slide them inside of the cans.
Big City Thunder actually makes a "Quiet Baffle" that is designed to give back the lost low end torque by running pipes with no baffels and give your bike a deep mellow tone.
