Glad everyone is ok, too bad about his bike. Once you get acustomed to wearing the helmet you'll feel weird just driving the bike down the driveway without wearing it.

That damn front brake can unload you so quick you don't have any time to think.

Glad you both made it and it must have been dicey watching Dad take a fall.

I live in MI and I have taken my helmet off when I'm idling down scenic back roads. I always wear it everywhere else. It's an odd, almost insecure feeling when I don't wear it, like something is missing. But then again I have attempted to locate my seat belt several times when getting on my bike ... lol.

Glad it wasn't any worse for you and your dad. Speaking as one who has kissed the black top, I can validate your choice to wear a helmet. I'm not an "all the gear all the time" rider, but I know that skin and bones will grow back, brains not so much...
