Yes there are circumstances that you will be following someone too close where you have no control, however that was not the case here, and in all honesty is very seldom the case for rear end collisions.
However I have changed my original statement to reflect this.
What irritates us it the poster blames someone else for his action of following to close, especially if he has an inexperienced rider following him.
You need to take responsibility for your action.
Same thing for merging, whenever you see road construction, when youre on a bike you need to anticipate someone cutting you off, slow down and give yourself enough room so they dont have to. Chose who you want in front of you and who you want in back of you.
