Helmet from now on for me
Here in the Chicago area, I would say about 80% of the riders do not ware one. I also have had several occasions to pass by the Motor Co. in Milwaukee around quitting time. Looks to me like about half do and half do not. That kid of surprised me.
However it is important to remember that freedom and personal choice are the most important things we have as Americans. I am not in favor of mandatory.

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
Many years ago, my best friend noticed that I always look at motorcycles as they pass by. She mentioned that while some guys check out every girl in their vicinity, I check out motorcycles. So this is not an assumption, there are relatively few Harleys out, especially on anything less then a perfect day.
If you too are a regular rider and my comments offended you, sorry. But, except at the stealers, Harley events, or perhaps parked at biker bars, there are not a lot of Harleys actually being ridden. At least in Vegas. And that is not an assumption, it is a fact.
Come to Vegas and just look around at the scooters that are actually being ridden on a daily basis. The assumption, on my part, would be that the same ratio exists in other parts of the country. And I would make that assumption. Riding a motorcycle looks like a lot of fun to some people, at least until they get out in traffic and some of the thrill goes away.

In CT you have a choice but on my rides I go through a few states that require it.
Wearing a helmet is cool. My Bell looks cool.
I dress for the crash. the drivers in cages are getting dumber by the day,
no insurance, no license, no respect for others on the roads.
Some don't know what a red light means.
