My brother and I were at a dealership yesterday and happened to look at a 2013 Switchback. He noticed the lack of a heel/toe shifter and assumed one was available through H-D, or even one from a Softail would fit.
I told him that from what I've read here that's not the case. I've re-read most of the threads on the topic and can't find the reason why one from a Softail or Touring bike won't fit.
Can someone please enlighten me on the topic?
Is it the length of the shifter shaft, the spline configuration, or what?
I'd like to be able to tell him a bit more detail than it just won't work.
